Hair competitions are one of the best ways to fuel one’s passion for this great industry of ours. Competitions give young student designers—our industry’s up-and-coming talent—a platform to express themselves, exposure to professionals, and a front-row seat to all the possibilities a career in hair design has to offer. To support future generations of hair designers in their competitive experience, Pivot Point has a global team of competition trainers and mentors, including international champions and OMC artistic directors Joakim Roos and Manuel Rodriguez. They assist and guide student competitors to have the most valuable competition experience possible.
Quality mannequins are another key to student competitions, and Pivot Point has a 50-year tradition of providing superior quality mannequins to schools, competitions, and the entire hair industry. OMC has approved the Pivot Point mannequins you see here for competition use. We continually update our mannequin and hairpiece offerings to meet OMC’s changing standards. Because our international team remains closely involved in competitor training, we know what works and can innovate and improve our mannequins to produce the best competing model in the market.
Pivot Point has always taken great pride in offering the finest hair goods to its customers. This pride is evident in our premium line of competition mannequins as well. Each of these competition mannequins takes approximately 50 to 60 hours of intensive hand labor to produce and incorporates Pivot Point’s strict standards of quality. In order to help meet these tough standards, top competitors from around the world are continuously consulted. This allows Pivot Point to update and improve our mannequins as trends and needs change. Whether under the Artistic or Progressive Fashion category, Pivot Point has both men’s and women’s mannequins available to meet the most demanding standards of the competing artist.

OMC was founded in 1946 with the goal to unite hairdressers from all over the world and raise their professional competence, recognition and image to the highest standards. Today, OMC is the world’s biggest hairdressing and beauty organization, counting over 60 member countries and 1,000,000 salon owners.
Raising the profile and recognition of skilled people, and show how important skills are in achieving economic growth. WorldSkills organizes the world championships of vocational skills, and is held every two years in different parts of the world. The organization, which also hosts conferences about vocational skills, describes itself as the global hub for skills.
